Attending live music events used to be a regular part of my experience, and I’ve had the privilege of attending many iconic concerts and festivals. While most times I went purely as a fan, there were occasions when I had the opportunity to document a few gigs several years ago for online and print publications. These assignments provided a unique perspective right at the base of the stage, allowing me to capture the essence of the music, the crowd, and the electrifying atmosphere, showcasing the dynamic intersection of my passion for photography and the world of live music.

Def Wish Cast/Celsius is an iconic Australian hip-hop group that was formed by legendary Sydney rapper and artist, Unique. In 2004 they had a series of gigs in and around Sydney. I was privy to one gig at the iconic Annandale Hotel, Sydney, after Paul (Unique) had asked me if I could document the performance.

The V-Fest brought together iconic indie bands from the 70s, 90s, and early 2000s for a whole weekend back in 2007. An independent online publication called lifelounge (which I was working for at the time) assigned me to capture the first night which featured Gnarls Barkley, Groove Armada, New York Dolls, and Phoenix.
